Bishop Gaul College is the only formal theological institution of the Anglican Church in Zimbabwe.  It concentrates on the academic and practical training of priests. This is done within three years after which ordinands are awarded diplomas in religious studies and pastoral theology.  Their ordination to the deaconate takes place thereafter at the discretion of the respective bishop.  Since the college is very much understaffed, it is difficult to meet all the academic requirements for priestly ministry.
