Mission
Codrington College offers training for Ordination in the Church of the Province of the West Indies. Its programme is built around the plan set out by the Commission on Ministry of the Church in the Province, the principles of which have been enshrined in the Canons of the Province. This training programme is executed in dialogue with the said Commission, and with partners in other theological colleges.

History
The college is located in Barbados on the estates of its 17th century founder and benefactor, Christopher Codrington, who died on Good Friday, 1710. In his will he had left to the Society for the Propogation of the Gospel two estates. One of the purposes of the bequest was that there should be maintained a number of professors who should be obliged ot teach medicine, surgery, and divinity. The college buildings were completed in 1743 and the college was officially opened in 1745.
