THE REV. DR. NICHOLAS SAGOVSKY is Canon Theologian at Westminster Abbey. He taught at Edinburgh Theological College, and later at Clare College, Cambridge where he was Dean and Director of Studies in Theology. Subsequently he held a position at Newcastle University in Applied Christian Theology, and then took a position as Professor of Theology and Public Life at Liverpool Hope University College. Professor Sagovsky is the author of a number of books and articles on a wide range of subjects, particularly in ecumenism, theology and justice, and 19th and 20th century theology.
DR. SINCLAIR GOODLAD was formerly Director of the Humanities Programme at Imperial College London. Initially he had done his PhD in Sociology at the London School of Economics. He has taught at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and has been visiting associate at the Center for Studies in Higher Education at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Fellow of the Society for Research into Higher Education. For seven years, he was editor of the journal Studies in Higher Education. He has written and/or edited 17 books on education (on theories and methods of higher education, service learning, and student tutoring). In the 1990s, he was higher education consultant to the UK Council for Church and Associated Colleges, assisting with their submission to the National Committee of Inquiry into Higher Education (the Dearing Committee).
THE REV. RAYMOND HESLEHURST is Master of Richard Johnson College, University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia (2002-2005). He has been Rector of two parishes in the Diocese of Sydney (16years), is one of the founders of RJC and was its Honorary Master for the first 5 years of its existence. He holds a B.D. from London and a M.Th. from the Australian College of Theology. He has lectured in the History of Ideas (Jesus in History and Tradition and Islam) and given lectures in Ethics at the University of Wollongong. He has also lectured and tutored in Theology, History and Liturgy for the Moore Theological College external programme. He was a member of the Governing Board of two University Colleges for 20 years serving as chair for five years during their reconstitution.
THE REV. DR. MARK CHATER is Reader in Education and Tutor in Theology and Education at Bishop Grosseteste College, Lincoln, UK, an Anglican foundation College of Higher Education specialising in teacher education, the arts and humanities. He worked for ten years as a teacher of religious education in church schools in Britain before entering teacher education and research work. His research interests include the nature, presence and ambiguity of spirituality in education; theological and human-relations perspectives on educational management and leadership, and on authority structures; and the ways in which church schools and church universities struggle to maintain their distinctiveness in a religious diverse world and in a globalizing economy. He is convener of conferences on spirituality and change in education, and book reviews editor for the International Journal of Children's Spirituality.
THE REV. DR. THOMAS MHURIRO was trained for the Roman Catholic priesthood at the Major Seminary in Harare, and graduated with a BA Honors in Religious Studies in 1994, January. He was ordained later that month, and served for three and half years as an assistant parish priest and a secondary school teacher at St Michael's Mhondoro. He spent a year in London working towards an MA in Philosophy. In 1999 he was received in the Anglican Church, and worked at the Cathedral at Harare as an Assistant until late 2001, when he was appointed Rector of St Mary's Highlands. As Dean of Masvingo Diocese he has been involved in extensive pastoral duties in multiracial contexts. He completed his MA in Religious Studies in 2003, when he was appointed Principal of Bishop Gaul College in 2004 where he now lectures in Church History.
THE REV. JANET TRISK was ordained to the priesthood in 1993 after completing a Masters degree from the University of Cape Town in Christian anthropology. Previous to that she had trained and functioned as a lawyer. After some five years in parish work, she came to the College of the Transfiguration in 1998 to teach systematic theology, women's studies and spirituality. She is particularly interested in the ways identity is constructed, and the implications of such constructed identity(s). She has written articles in local journals and newspapers, and is currently working on a PhD.
THE REV. DR. ANDREW WAI MAN NG is College Chaplain at Chung Chi College, in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He started his theological education at China Graduate School of Theology, followed by a Master's degree at Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis and finally a Th.D. in Historical Theology from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He is the editor of Volume 1 and co-editor of volume 2 of the Chinese Edition of Luther's Works. Since 1985 he has been teaching theology at the China Graduate School of Theology and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong, and also at Christ College in Taiwan, before he took up the Chaplaincy at Chung Chi College in 2000.
THE REV. DR. SAM PORTARO is a priest of the Episcopal Church. He earned an A.B. with Honors in English from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, an M.Div. from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria and the D.Min from Princeton Theological Seminary. He was Episcopal Chaplain to the College of William & Mary and Associate to the Rector of Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, from 1976 until 1982, and then Episcopal Chaplain to The University of Chicago and Director of Brent House from 1982 to 2004. He is author of several books on vocation and ministry to young adults, and education in the church.
THE REV. DR. MAHER SPURGEON is a senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Religion in Madras Christian College, and also the Chaplain to the college. He has master’s degrees in Philosophy and Religion, and also in Economics, a M.Phil degree in Philosophy, and a PhD from University of Madras. He also has completed M.Th in Pastoral Theology from University of Wales. He is the Secretary of Asian Christian Faculty Association in India and Registrar of Christian Educational Council. He has attended several international conferences and presented papers.
