History
Renison College is one of the founding members of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion. Renison was founded as a result of the efforts of Anglican laity in Kitchener-Waterloo and under the authority of the Synod of the Diocese of Huron. The College is named in memory of Robert John Renison (1875-1957), a former Metropolitan of Ontario and Archbishop of Moosonee. Since its incorporation on January 14, 1959, Renison’s emphasis on offering a first-class undergraduate education in a supportive Christian milieu has remained constant.
